Calabasas Property

Calabasas has all the elements of a rural town with the conveniences of access to Los Angeles, the second most populated city in the United States and home of many work opportunities. The city of Calabasas was incorporated in 1991 and has around 20,000 residents according to the 2000 census. The small town and friendly feel of Calabasas makes it a destination for many people in the Los Angeles area.

Calabasas is located partly among hills and mountains, which creates an incredibly serene setting for residents' homes. From these peaks you can enjoy one of the most fantastic views there is of the San Fernando Valley. You can also take a stroll through downtown Calabasas that will remind you of times long gone.

Calabasas is also a very friendly city. Every October, the city hosts a pumpkin fest and invites people from around the Greater Los Angeles Area to participate. Pie-eating contests are held, as are pony rides, hay rides and seed-spitting contests. The attraction of the pumpkin festival brings many people into the city to support local merchants and artists.

According to the 2000 census, there are 7,229 households in Calabasas and 5,544 families. OF the over 20,000 residents, 86.92 percent are white, 1.18 percent are African American, 7.71 percent are Asian and 2.71 percent are Hispanic or Latino of any race. Out of the 7,229 households, 43.3 percent have children under 18 years of age, 23.3 percent are non-families and 64.3 percent are married couples living together.
